2025 Poetry Prize Winners
The 2025 Pre-Raphaelite Society Poetry Competition had our highest ever number of
submissions, and all had something to recommend them; the judges, Poet-in-Residence Sarah
Doyle, and PRS Chair Serena Trowbridge, found it difficult to choose the winners, but after
much careful thought, discussion and rereading, we settled on our top five. They will appear
in the Spring Review, but here are the judges’ chosen winners.
First Place – ‘Fruitful’ by Sarah Leavesley
Second Place – ‘Winter in Danan’ – Rachel Curzon
Third Place – ‘How they met themselves’ by Jack Heywood-Cooper
Poet-in-Residence’s Commendation – ‘Deep Meadows’ by Sarah Leavesley
Chair’s Commendation – ‘Red-bloom Autumn’ double work by Valentino Nuzzoli
'Red-bloom Autumn’ by Valentino Nuzzoli
All winning poems will be published in the Spring issue.
